During our time at Lake Catherine, I captured a photo of this adorable little raccoon.
After a day spent exploring Lake Catherine State Park in Arkansas, we settled in for the night in the camper van. Because of the perfect weather conditions, after a summer of high heat, we left the doors open to feel the fresh, cool breeze.
Just as I was about to drift off to sleep, I heard some rustling outside and immediately thought that we were under attack by a bear (I know it sounds silly!). But when I checked with my cell phone flashlight, I saw this precious little guy instead. This encounter reminded me that the great outdoors is always full of life, no matter the time of day.
Whether it’s the rustling of leaves on a windy day, the chirping of birds in the morning, or a chance encounter with a raccoon, there’s always something new to discover in nature. It’s a humbling experience to be surrounded by such beauty and wonder, and it’s important to take the time to appreciate it. So next time you find yourself cooped up inside, take a step outside and let the natural world amaze you.
